Club

EFFECTIVE MAY 1ST 2024

Preamble:
This summer has been extremely busy with both national and international visitors. Many potential golfers  both members and visitors have been disappointed when told we are fully booked. Group bookings that are no shows without any prior notification have become a source of lost revenue for the club. This applies to both members and visitors. The other lost revenue issue is when two members want to play in a two and book for two plus two visitors and then the visitors are no shows.

The last thing we want to do is discourage visitors and group bookings but we need a published policy. The policy should be managed with discretion and gives potential no shows a reason to notify then club in advance.

ADVERSE WEATHER POLICY

Fees are payable irrespective of no shows due to delayed or cancelled flights or travel plans, personal injuries or illness. Management strongly recommends that all golfers consider travel insurance.

Should severe lightning, fog, heavy rain, frost  or snow force the temporary suspension of play, start times may be delayed significantly to allow for the conditions to improve and for the necessary course maintenance procedures to be implemented to create the best environment for our golfers. A delay of up to one hour will result in the original tee time bookings determining the order of play after resumption. Every effort will be made by the staff to ensure golfers are fully aware of the up-to-date course status and how it effects their tee time. A delay of more than one hour will result in actual tee times taking precedence, with earlier times being forfeited. Every effort will be made to reschedule the forfeited tee times subject to availability. Should this not be possible, then a no fees will be payable.

GENERAL
If it becomes necessary to close the course during a day’s play, the Staff will inform golfers waiting to tee off in person and by placing the ‘course closed’ sign at the clubhouse. If there are players already on the course the Staff will make their way to various parts of the course and assess the prevailing weather conditions. If they feel that play should be suspended, they will make a series of long blasts on an air horn indicating play is suspended, and, visit every hole to ensure all golfers are aware of the suspension. All players should mark their ball position and make their way to the clubhouse to await the resumption of play.  The Staff, under instruction of  Management, will review the suspension of play on a regular basis.

When it is safe for play is to re-commence, players will be advised of the course re-opening and will be invited to restart their round at the hole at which play was suspended.

Should they be unable to re-commence their round (due to the course remaining closed or they have other commitments) players will be offered the chance to re-book for a full round or receive a refund detailed below. Players yet to tee off will be asked if they wish to wait, re-book for later in the day, re-book for another date or receive a full refund as detailed below. They will be asked to keep the Staff informed of their intentions during the closure and vice versa. When play resumes it is in tee sheet order for those who still wish to play.

This may result in those arriving on time for their tee time having to wait, but the Staff will do all they can to have players teeing off promptly to reduce the wait. Refunds A full refund of the green fee paid will be given to those players who complete 1- 9 holes. A 50% refund of the full green fee will be given to those players who complete 10 – 17 holes. NO refund of green fee will be given to those players who complete all 18 holes or who fail to adhere to management instruction given through staff.
